New skills, developements and my new favorite sport: tennis

As a production company owner and filmmaker, I think it’s extremely important to keep evolving, no matter what areas are involved. Ultimately, of course, it’s about making sure that all the little “construction sites”, as I like to call them, are constantly in motion, evolving & improving.

That sounds a bit cryptic – so what exactly do I mean by that? And yes, I’ll get to the topic of tennis below 🙂

Over the past few years, I’ve evolved with my work – moving away from the “travel influencer content creator” I was until the pandemic. I was forced to reorient myself in 2020. Now I have reached a point where I want to offer very concrete services.

As part of my rebranding, I’m learning a lot right now. Especially in the area of marketing, I’m currently continuing my education – both for my brand Sepp Morrison, as well as for won’t stop GmbH, which I run together with my partner Dennis. It’s extremely important to me to communicate exactly what I like and what I’m really good at. That way, I only do projects that I like to do and the client knows that he’s booking me as an expert for the task at hand. So it’s a win-win situation.

In the past, I did literally everything that appeared in front of my lens. That was an extremely good fit at the time. In the future, I’d like to focus on very specific areas, spend more time on them and become infinitely better at them.

My first marketing campaign

For my rebranding, I decided to launch a marketing campaign to promote my product videos. This is exactly the kind of content I want to produce more of in the future. Simply because it’s currently insanely fun for me, doesn’t involve constant travel, and can thus ensure that I’m doing well in the long run.

I’ve spent a lot of time analyzing audiences and data to make the campaign perfect. I’m excited to see what I can accomplish with it. As is often the case in my life, I’m taking a “just do it” approach – only by “just doing it” with the campaign will I see if I can be successful with it and if it’s the right fit for me.

Now the next step is, of course, analysis. Because one thing I’ve learned in my experience with Google Ads so far – money burned is the quick. I want to know exactly what matters in order to be successful with it in the end.

I love tennis now

You’ve probably been wondering what this is all about since reading the headline. But I have also developed this week away from work.

My favorite sport has always been football – both when I play myself and on TV. In my past, I was able to spend a lot of time with professional athletes, who were always a huge inspiration for me and my future path.

My girlfriend Janine asked me earlier if I wanted to watch the Wimbledon men’s final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic with her. Apart from the fact that I didn’t really know either of them, I’ve never seriously followed a game of tennis before, simply because I didn’t know the rules and thus didn’t understand the game.

Janine then explained everything to me, and slowly I found access to the sport, which was somewhat more complicated for me before. I was so fascinated by the game and the stories surrounding it that I watched the final in its entirety – for almost five hours. Apart from the sport and the memories of various sporting events, I was of course also inspired by the advertisements of sponsors like Ralph Lauren and Rolex to get more involved with product videos. The whole tennis world is a market I hadn’t been aware of at all. Congratulations to Carlos Alcaraz, I’m already looking forward to the US Open 🙂

How are you trying to further your education? And what do you still want to learn? And (important question for me now): Who are your favorite tennis players?

Thanks for reading and have a great week!
